Translating science into the real world

The ultimate goal of research is to create impact in society. Either by improving our understanding of the universe, finding cures to diseases, or enhancing the quality of life.

A way to translate pure research into tools that have a broader impact is to create companies to commercialize academic findings.

I have nicknamed the process: The Scipreneur Journey.

The Scipreneur Journey

Although daunting at first, there are more and more scientists stepping into the startup world. I am particularly interested in those scientists, PhD’s and postdocs who stepped away from purely academic research and focused on translating knowledge.

I am collecting insights and sharing them with people who are following a similar path. Initially, in the form of mentorship or consultancy, and later on through organized content either through this website, a book, or a dedicated space elsewhere.
